The True Benefits of Singing With Passion
One of the things that music teachers hear all the time are things like, “I would love to know how to sing”, “I really enjoy my singing but no one thinks I’m any good”. Teachers tell of numerous stories of teachers informing their vocal students to mime the words to songs because they weren’t really good singers.
Singing has long been a very important part of our culture. And it also comes very natural to us. And lots of us use it to express ourselves, especially when we are happy.. A great love of music is also something that can be passed down from one generation to the next.
The following are 4 great reasons to sing:
1) To express yourself: This is something where a lot of songwriters, singers and composers get a lot of their inspiration. Being able to use their feelings to write great music also enables them to learn how to sing better songs which move people. You can also find existing pieces of music, which also reflect your own feelings and thoughts. And because you are singing this song to reflect your feelings, it doesn’t matter at this stage whether the quality is 100% or not.
2) Connect with yourself: A mix of diaphragm breathing, and singing to some of your favourite songs will help you relax more and get in touch within your emotions. This will help to create great musical and vocal pieces.
3) Connecting with your audience: You need to use every opportunity to connect with people, whether it be through prayer, concerts or meditation. Sing like there is nobody else in the room.
4) Help to improve those wonderful feelings you have: Just focus positive thoughts on what you really want. And in order to achieve this through music, just make sure and sing happy, blissful and exciting songs.
Once you are happy with yourself then it is the time that you’ll get the most from your voice. Start to sing with more feeling and passion without going over the top.
And at the same time, try to experiment with other styles of music and instruments. This has the benefit of opening up new avenues of music appreication that you never knew you had. And to help with your overall range you should keep a record of those songs that bring out the best of you. And even better still you should record those songs that enable to get the best emotional performances.
